PHYSICAL THERAPY
Physical therapy interventions focus on laying the foundation required for core strength and stability for all other developmental skills to build on. PT treatment is needed when a child demonstrates developmental delays in gaining milestones or after an acquired injury that causes neurological or musculoskeletal changes. Interventions range greatly, including:
Building endurance and tolerance to handling and positioning
Developing protective reactions and balance techniques
Integrating vestibular and proprioceptive input
Improving postural alignment and positioning
Developing awareness and orientation to where their body is in space
Teaching walking, running, and jumping mechanics
Developing and improving cross body coordination and control
Doing physical therapy in the pediatric population is unique and fun as often it’s just a matter of getting the child engaged in games and play. Here at Climb we set up activities for your child to do that work towards established goals, often without them realizing that they are doing exercise or work.
Please see our “learn more” page for any other concerns you may have about whether your child is appropriate for Physical Therapy services.
